On Wednesday 14 November 2007 the Institute for Air Quality Management held a Workshop on Carbon Capture and Storage
The workshop and discussion covered the four aspects of carbon removal from power plant plumes (1) the technology (2) the storage (3) the policy framework to encourage it to happen in the UK and Europe and (4) a discussion of an actual proposal and its environmental assessment.
1 - Developments for carbon capture technologies for power generation - Stanley Santos
The power industry has produced a publication Borne on the Wind which provides an easy to understand outline of the principles and problems associated with estimating dispersion from tall stationary sources.
Although perhaps not currently the main air quality issue, the publication does outline in simple ways the factors which need to be considered in dispersion calculations. It is provided as an introductory text which can be downloaded as a pdf.
